Framing & Care Guide

Botanica Lumen photographic prints

About the print

Botanica Lumen prints are produced as true continuous-tone silver-halide photographic prints on professional Fujifilm photographic material. This process captures exceptional detail, tonal depth, and colour fidelity.

To preserve the print for decades, proper framing using archival materials is recommended.

Framing recommendations

Frame behind protective glazing
Use glass or acrylic glazing to protect the print from dust, humidity, and handling. UV-filtering glazing is recommended where possible.

Avoid contact with the glass
The print surface should not touch the glazing. Use a mat (passe-partout) or spacer so the print sits slightly away from the glass.

Use archival materials
Acid-free mount board and archival backing help preserve the print over time.
Archival mounting corners may be used to secure the print to a backing board without adhesive touching the photographic surface.

Display conditions

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and areas with high humidity. Display in stable indoor conditions.

Handling

Handle the print by the edges only and avoid touching the glossy image surface.

Note:
Do not apply adhesive tapes or mounting strips directly to the print.
Adhesives can permanently damage the photographic paper and are not recommended.

Professional framing

A local professional framing shop will be familiar with these requirements and can quickly prepare the print for display. Simply bring the print to your local framer and they will advise on suitable mounting, archival materials, and frame sizes.
